Poet of Love and Rebellion

Poet of  Love and Rebellion Nazım Hikmet was written by Mustafa Balbay who is journalist in the Turkey.

Firstly, to talk about the author of the book, he handles the book quite plain language. Also, he takes advantages of countries that he visited,  he found many clues about Nazım Hikmet in many countries such as Bulgaria, Czech Republic,  Russia and Azerbaijan. In addition, he has travelled over 80 countries. This feature makes him different from other writers. He reflects his knowledges that he has been collected so far from different countries with a great harmony, therefore, this makes his book both enjoyable and informational.

Secondly, the content of the book always attracts attention by the readers.
Nazım Hikmet is one of the greatest poet in the world. In contrast to this, he was removed from citizenship by his country's government. Although he has a strong reputation on the worldwide, unfortunately he was declared as a traitor. Because whoever has been done great jobs, they have always been punished by the government in our homeland.

Thirdly, Nazım was actually communist poet at that time. For this reason he was punished over 15 years by Turkish courts. He didn't kill someone, he just put down the imperialist order that established by US. He just figured out the wrong order that was brought by America.
During his lifetime, there was government of Adnan Menderes who always supported to US imperialism. Because of this, there were over 100 American bases in our country. The plan of the Marshall which is composed by America to make an ally western countries against SSCB was so successful. US promised Turkey to give 100 million dollars for developing of Turkey. In addition to this, they established many us bases slowly. At the end of the 1961, this number reached over 95 bases. Hikmet just criticized this situation, but , this criticising was enough to be traitor at that time.

When everything is taken into consideration, Nazım was died of homesickness in Moscow. Unlike his death, his book was translated into 50 languages. He wasn't only the poet of the Turkey, but also the poet oh the world. One of his famous friends, Pablo Neruda who has Nobel literature award mentioned Nazım like this: l met another great poet in Moscow frequently, but, this legend was punished over 15 years in his country. This legend was the Turk Nazım.
His last wish was to be buried in a Turk cemetery in Anatolia ,yet, even this request wasn't fulfilled.
